Indigenous people of Canada are essential participants in the advancement of urban studies as a discipline and set of practices. In support of reconciliation with Indigenous peoples and the goal of increasing the number of Indigenous graduate students, and as outlined in the British Columbia's Aboriginal Post-Secondary Education and Training Policy Framework and Action Plan, we will nominate all qualified Indigenous applicants for graduate scholarships held by SFU Graduate and Postgraduate Studies. For master’s students, these scholarships are currently valued at $18,000 per year for two years.
